Stirling University WFC Head Coach Barry Rodgers said:
"I think we played ok in the first half after conceding the early goal, looking comfortable defensively and building attacks well.
In the second half our standard dropped, we didn't defend well enough, lost the goal and didn't really create as much attack.
We have much better in us than today so it is important we lift the standard of our performance for Hibs next week".
Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale Head Coach Mike Ross said:
"Today's win is dedicated to Tom Wiffen who sadly passed away last week.
Tom was the former EUHV Goalkeeping Coach and our thoughts are with all his family and friends right now in this difficult time.
The players have been fantastic in training considering what's happened and while we have been so inconsistent this season I still feel individuals and the team have improved.
Last Sunday we really dropped our standards against Hibs, so it was important we improved today and come home with the 3 points.
All the goals were well taken from all over the pitch and while we felt we could have had several more, we were also happy to not concede any.
Encouraging again the phases of play we created which is what we work on in training.
We have 3 tough games left all at home with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock coming to Peffermill.
We want to finish this partnership in a positive place so we will do our best to pick up more points but we know it won't be easy".
