Raith Rovers Rapids fun day out at The Edinburgh Cup....

Raith Rapids travelled this morning to play in The Edinburgh Cup International Youth Festival U11s.

Team: Mckenzie, Morgan, Leila, Hayden, Lily, Brooke, Kayleigh, Mia, Neve.

The Rapids had a very competitive day of football playing against East Fife FC, Kelty Hearts FC, Inverness Thistle FC, Hearts FC and Kilmarnock Ladies FC.

The team tried out various different playing positions and formations across the day.

We even saw a return to goals for a game by Neve in the last game of the festival where she kept a clean sheet.

That meant that Mckenzie could get let loose out from goals to play centre forward and she almost scored and linked up well.

Morgan, Leila, Neve, Lily, Hayden all had stints in defence helping Mckenzie in goals and managed to keep two clean sheets and for Kayleigh having a go in Midfield.

Credit to all the girls today for rotating and trying all the new positions.

Girls on the scoresheet today:

Brooke 4 Mia H. 4 Kayleigh 2

Raith Girl of the Festival was voted by the players this week and Brooke Forrester picked up the votes from her team mates to pip Mckenzie and to pick up the award for the 2nd week in a row with another assured and composed midfield performance with goals, assists, penetrating runs, skill, passing and immense work rate for the team.

The girls all had fun and finished off the day with a mass Festival Floss dance!
