With pre-season games now taking place Jeanfield fans got the opportunity to see their new signings in action for the first time when they travelled to play Cumbernauld Colts on Sunday.
One of those signings was midfielder Laura Dunn.
With the exception of a year in the US with Lady Mavs Laura has played all of her football in Edinburgh so the move to Perth presents a fresh challenge. After spending 7 seasons at Tynecastle Ladies Laura moved to Hutchievale and then enjoyed a season at Spartans.
Laura explained.." I've been looking for a new challenge and I'm delighted to have signed with Jeanfield. The professional setup of the club and the quality of coaching made it a no brainer to sign.
The team had a successful first season in the SWPL 2 only marginally losing out in games to the top 4 and with the strength and depth of the squad I fully believe we are in good stead to compete well in the league and cup competitions this season.
The coaches and players have been very welcoming and it's a great atmosphere to be part of. The quality of players and high standards set will only help improve my game. I can't wait for the season to begin and be part of a team who want success"
Laura has been training with the club for the last month and Jason McCrindle was delighted to finally secure her signature. "Laura came highly recommended to us and has been with us a few weeks now. I've been impressed with her ability but her commitment and attitude is first class. She has fitted in well with the group and I'm really looking forward to working with her to help us improve for the coming season. Laura has shown faith in the club and her teammates by choosing Jeanfield ahead of other options that were open to her".
