Background

 

The club are in the process of developing a philosophy, playing style and culture, which operates from the 1st team down. Developing young players from the youth teams coupled with the recruitment of talent, which can be developed, is at the heart of the club. This is an exciting time to be joining an innovative, modern and progressive club who aim to create a top footballing environment.

 

The role

 

An exciting position has become available for a coach to lead and manage the players in our U20 development squad. This role is critical to the implementation of our strategy and in achieving our targets. Reporting to the clubs head coach the individual will manage the transition of players from youth teams to U20’s to the 1st team liaising closely with the head of youth and 1st team management. The successful applicant will be responsible for the environment, training and matches for the development squad and ensuring that each individual player is given the opportunity to turn their potential into a reality.

 

The individual will deliver a comprehensive programme in line with the clubs playing philosophy to develop players who meet the characteristics the club look for in a player. We firmly believe in developing the person as well as the footballer and that each individual player is a project in their own right and the head development squad coach will be responsible for ensuring that each of the players are motivated, challenged and obtain maximum benefit from the environment we are creating and the staff within the club.

 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing young players and experience of working with players making the transition to a 1st team from ages 17 to 20. The role requires the post holder to be in possession of the SFA C licence. The successful applicant will be a dynamic individual who shows leadership skills and motivates others. An energetic team player the individual will be able to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.

 

IT skills are essential given the requirement of modern day football.

 

The role is a part time, working around 10 hours per week, to suit the needs of the club. A flexible approach to working hours is essential and there is a requirement to work match days, evenings and weekends.
