A fired up 15s get 2nd win in as many days with a more disciplined performance.
Monifieth is never an easy place to go but as gunfire was heard on the neighbouring Barry Buddon military firing range it was Jeanfield who were firing on target. 5 minutes in Rachel played a long ball with good work by Demi setting up Hannah to score. 5 mins later the same three players combined well to set up Demi to bag her 1st. Swifts were passing well and great work by Tara set up Demi for her 2nd on 18 minutes. Swifts nearly scored when Kaitlyn shot but the ball was cleared only as far as Rachel who fired in a rasper of a shot the Monifieth keeper was unable to hold.
The game safe, Swifts changed formation and continued to pepper Monifieths goal. Monifieth were making it hard though and closing down well. They were undone again though when Rachel bagged another after 27 minutes directly from a corner. Pushing forward Beth played a great ball in to Tara to get on the score sheet after ½ hr. Despite the score Monifieth tried to play football but without any real threat.
Swifts changed formation again and moved players around for the 2nd half. Hannah drove forward from the back and played a sweet 1-2 with Kaitlyn to fire in her 2nd on 39mins. After this Monifieth had their best spell of the game with Hannah now ‘closely’ marked and Swifts trying to adjust to new positions and roles. Kaitlyn had come so close all game but wasn’t to be outdone adding to Swifts tally with a well taken goal on 55 minutes. Leah played a vicious corner in in the 58th minute which Demi finished well for her hatrick.
It was to be 3 goals in 3 minutes as Ellie then set up Kaitlyn for her 2nd and Leah put Demi in for her 4th. The last 10 minutes saw some good play and clear chances at both ends but there was no more scoring despite shots on target from Eve, Ellie and Beth amongst others.
Swifts have played 5, won 5 but know there are tougher days ahead.
