SWFL1 North: Falkirk FC v Aberdeen Reserves

April 11, 2016

Aberdeen travelled to the Falkirk stadium today to face an in-form Falkirk side.

Aberdeen got off to the worst possible start going behind within seconds of Kick Off when Falkirk broke at speed and exploited a sleepy Dons team to take a very early lead.

Things got worse for the away side when they went two down within the opening minutes. More quick play down the right saw an excellent ball delivered into the box which was tapped in at the back post. It looked like it would be a difficult afternoon for the Dons.

The team regrouped after the second goal and instantly became the dominant team creating several chances through Beth Mcpherson, Lauren Gordon & Megan Reid.

Aberdeen got back into the game with a fine move down the left hand side. Chloe Government taking on the full-back before slipping a great ball to Lauren Gordon who was unlucky to see her effort rebound off the post, but Beth Mcpherson was on hand to tap in from close range.

Aberdeen continued to cause problems for Falkirk and found the equalizer when Beth Mcpherson played an outstanding ball over the top of the defence for Lauren Gordon to control and confidently finish.

The Reserves now have a break in fixtures for a couple of weeks but will be hoping to continue the good form when they return to action.
